Colorado River
Wine Tasting

Nothing compliments a beautiful day on a scenic river like fine wine. So what could be better than fishing some of the West’s best trout streams only to return to your beautiful accommodations in the Rocky Mountains with some of the nation's premier wines awaiting you? Having the wines poured by none other than the owners and/or winemakers themselves! Get to know these amazing wines and fantastic people behind them, the people who know them best. We will have several thousands of dollars worth of their fine wines available for you to enjoy! Wine on the Fly is extremely proud to present 2013’s participating wineries:
Von Strasser Winery, hosted by Rudy von Strasser
Rudy's winemaking philosophy centers on the concept that great wines are created in the vineyard and not in the winery. His most important winemaking tool is his palate: his ability to understand and analyze each vineyard’s wine potential through the tasting of the grapes. All of the grapes used in the von Strasser label are picked at their optimum ripeness when the flavors are peaking and the tannins have become ripe and soft. Rudy is also an avid angler, having fished Montana's storied waters countless times.

Visit them at Von Strasser Winery.

Lamborn Family Vineyards, hosted by Brian Lamborn
The very first "Family Vineyard" label in California, the Lamborns have been grape farming and producing elegant wines from Napa Valley's prestigious Howell Mountain for over three generations.  Located 2,200 feet above sea level, the Mountain's volcanic soil and distinct mezzo climate provides their small eight acre vineyard with uniquely ideal growing conditions.  Lamborn is producing Cabernets and Zinfandels of the highest quality and intensity, all handcrafted by "Celebrity Winemaker" Heidi Barrett.  A "family business" in every sense of the term, the Lamborn Family does all of the farming, production, and distribution themselves.

We invite you to visit Lamborn Family Vineyards.

Charles Krug Winery, Hosted by Marc and Janice Mondavi
Charles Krug Winery was founded in 1861 making it the first winery in Napa Valley. It is not only known for its 151 years of history but for its heritage with the Peter Mondavi Sr. Family. Peter’s parents, Cesare and Rosa Mondavi, purchased Charles Krug in 1943 and rebuilt it to all its glory after prohibition. Peter Sr. and his family are now celebrating its 70th year of ownership. With the fourth generation now involved in the family business, the Mondavi’s are dedicated to maintaining the Charles Krug Winery heritage and continuing to produce fine Napa Valley Wines. Come and meet Marc Mondavi, Peter Sr.’s eldest son, and his wife Janice as they share their history and fine wines.

We invite you to visit Charles Krug.
